The Main Research Lines :
- Advanced signal analysis methodology (BSS, CSE, etc.)
- Mechanisms underlying brain rhythms in human sleep and epilepsy
- In vitro generating mechanisms of rhythmical activity and synaptic plasticity
What is offered to the other NEUROMATH partners :
- Capability to host PhD students, postdocs and neurologists from other laboratories of Neuromath, supported by the NTSM and wishing to either conduct electrophysiology experiments or partake in signal analysis.
- Capability to process and share sleep and epilepsy EEG records
- Capability to offer data from brain slices: spontaneous and evoked activity including sharp wave/ripples, long-term potentiation, drug effects etc
- Capability to analyze EEG in single trial manner and recover brain signals with time course resembling the reference signal (CSE method)
What we are looking for in the other NEUROMATH partners :
- To team up with labs pursuing questions related to above in a complementary way either experimental or analytical.
- Help in localizing EEG sources
- Participation in efforts towards advancing MEG-EEG integration

- In the frame of development of a Brain Computer Interface system:
- Estimation of cortical connectivity during movement and imagery,
- Generation of algorithms for phase dynamics analysis, automated artifact rejection, Laplacian transform - Study of brain rhythms with wavelet transform, Hilbert transform and Empirical Mode Decomposition

- Different algorithms for the estimation of cortical function and connectivity in relation to arousal/sleepiness level, as well as different medication, and prospectively with other neuro-psychological diseases
- Algorithms for the estimation of arousal and stress levels
- Methods for sleepiness prediction and alerting during driving
